This route trades pavement for prairie as this route departs southeast Regina, following Highway 33 before turning onto quiet grid roads and eventually onto dirt tracks leading to the Ghost Farm.
Locals like to tell a story about the farmhouse, though no one can agree how much of it is true. They say a farming family once lived here, and every evening a lantern glowed in the upstairs window to guide late-working hands home across the fields. One autumn, the light never appeared again. The family vanished without explanation, leaving supper on the stove and the house to the wind. Over the years, people noticed something impossible: the house appears to have shifted several inches off its stone foundation without any signs of heavy equipment or collapse. Some say the prairie frost is to blame, but others insist an unseen force nudges the old home a little farther each decade, as though something beneath it refuses to let it rest.
The property has one final warning. Hidden among the tall grass sits a deteriorating old well, its weathered concrete top barely visible until you're almost standing on top of it. Local legend claims it is the source of whatever still lingers here, and those who have peered into its darkness swear they hear whispers rising from below when the wind is still. Whether you believe the stories or not, the well is a genuine hazard—stay well back and admire it from a safe distance.
